![]() ![]() The Leslie Organ Speaker has a serial number: H 95961 Model 710 The B3 Hammond Organ serial number is: 96473. I looked at the site listed above for serial numbers and none of the ones listed match the number I have. I say hang onto it along the the B3, as it's all going up in value. There was a time when Hammond organ players were giving away Pr40s - but that isn't the case anymore. ![]() Paired with a Leslie, it's an unbeatable combination. Also, the PR40 gives you a real good 1950s sounding organ tone, and is far less "glassy" than a Leslie. Creed Taylor who engineered and produced Blue Note and Prestige recordings always used a mixed Di/Leslie in order to get a better, sharper bass. Indeed, a Leslie for jazz organ bass isn't always ideal, which is why many organsits DI the bass in a recording context and mix it with a Leslie, becasue with bass, as we all know, you need directional punch. And, they're getting harder tofind. But more to the point, they make a great sound - the bass is famoulsy monster on a PR40, and better sounding than a Leslie. ![]() Two sold recently on ebay for over £200 each. These days, depending on condition, they can fetch as much as £300 here in the UK. Hi there - I have to disagree with your comment about the PR40 as "not worth much". ![]()
